Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Specialist Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to support operations in a leading Aerospace & Defense environment. This position is responsible for the development, administration, enforcement, and continuous improvement of EHS programs while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, county, local, and customer requirements.

The EHS Specialist will support injury reduction, environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, workplace safety, risk assessments, corrective actions, and EHS program implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support Environmental Health & Safety activities.
• Serve as an EHS subject matter expert to Operations, Engineering, and Program Management/Development.
• Conduct workplace surveys, safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Track corrective actions through effective closure.
• Support continuous improvement and management of change for EHS programs.
• Support Ergonomics, Chemical Management, Hazard and Risk Assessments, and Hazardous Waste programs.
• Conduct and support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Analyze EHS data and trends.
• Develop and maintain EHS documentation and regulatory records.
• Develop written EHS programs and employee training programs.
• Audit work practices for compliance.
• Brief site operations and leadership teams regarding EHS programs, trends, and action plans.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable EHS regulations and company policies.
• Maintain required permits, licenses, training records, certifications, inspections, and audit documentation.
• Support EHS process standardization across locations.
• Drive environmental sustainability initiatives.
• Manage EHS projects and programs independently.
• Work with vendors and consultants supporting EHS compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree + 6 years of relevant experience; OR
• Graduate Degree + 4 years of relevant experience; OR
• 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Strong EHS experience in a regulated environment.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA certifications.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
• Professional Engineer (PE).
• VPP experience.
• ISO 45001 experience.
• ISO 14001 experience.
• Gensuite experience.
• Power BI/data visualization experience.
• Strong root cause analysis experience.
• Experience developing and delivering EHS training.
• Experience managing EHS vendors, consultants, and budgets.
• Experience supporting multiple sites or programs.

• $50/hr on W2
